Fisiogen Ferro Forte: How to Take It Properly in Powders and Tablets

Fisiogen Ferro Forte is iron in tablets and sachets containing liposomal ferric pyrophosphate. The price, composition, and side effects are as follows.

What Is Fisiogen Ferro Forte?

It is liposomal ferric pyrophosphate, a component that the body needs when there is an iron deficiency. It is useful in cases of anemia, poor nutrition, or various diseases and conditions that prevent proper nutrient absorption.

Each capsule of Fisiogen Ferro Forte contains 30 mg of iron, enough to meet the body’s daily requirement for this mineral.

Types of Fisiogen

  • Ferro Forte
  • Forte
  • Sachets
  • Gel
  • Available in 60, 30, and 14-tablet presentations

Composition

Fisiogen ferro forte sachets and tablets

  • Ferro Forte: 30 mg of iron + 60 mg of vitamin C per tablet or sachet
  • Ferro: 14 mg of iron + 60 mg of vitamin C
  • Fisiogen Ferro sachets: 30 mg of iron + 64 mg of vitamin C + 0.375 mcg of vitamin B12

Since Fisiogen Ferro Forte contains more than twice the amount of mineral, it is especially recommended for people suffering from chronic kidney disease, tumors related to chronic anemia, and inflammatory anemia. It is also suitable for celiac patients and those who have undergone bariatric surgery.

To determine which type is best for your case, you should consult your doctor, as excessive iron intake can be harmful. Fisiogen Ferro Forte bypasses intestinal blockage and allows for efficient absorption. Liposomal ferric pyrophosphate is absorbed and released inside hepatocytes, making it highly effective.

Iron and Vitamin C

The vitamin C content in Fisiogen helps reduce static iron deposits. Iron and vitamin C are beneficial when taken together, as they improve the bioavailability of the mineral, making it more usable by the body.

Fisiogen Ferro Forte During Pregnancy

  • Pregnant women should take Fisiogen Ferro 14 mg, as it is designed to meet iron demands during this stage.
  • It contains vitamin B12, which is essential during pregnancy to prevent anemia and support development.

Side Effects

Since its composition includes liposomal iron, it avoids many of the discomforts and issues associated with other iron supplements. Fisiogen Ferro Forte has fewer side effects, as this formulation is more efficient and causes fewer adverse reactions in cases of intestinal inflammation.

For this reason, it is recommended for chronic iron deficiency, temporary blood loss, and iron deficiency anemia. You only need to know how to take it, and it is very simple.

Possible discomfort and side effects include:

  • Constipation
  • Stomach discomfort, stomach pain
  • Nausea
  • Metallic aftertaste
  • Changes in stool color

Although some people may experience unwanted effects due to increased sensitivity to this component, Fisiogen Ferro Forte is designed to minimize most of these. The iron is coated in a liposome, preventing direct contact with the digestive mucosa. This helps avoid most of the issues associated with oral iron supplements.

However, increasing iron intake can lead to difficulty with bowel movements. If you are prone to this, consult a specialist, as Fisiogen Ferro Forte and constipation may interact, potentially worsening the issue.

How to Take Fisiogen Forte Sachets and Tablets

Low to take liposomal ferric pyrophosphate
It is indicated for various life stages, such as during pregnancy, when a woman’s iron demand increases significantly, and during breastfeeding, when iron levels fluctuate constantly. It is also useful in situations where the body is expected to require higher amounts of iron, making it necessary to raise blood iron levels.

Fisiogen Ferro Forte should also be taken when menstruation is heavy and results in significant blood loss. Including it in your diet prevents iron deficiency anemia.

Many healthcare professionals and users have reported positive results, noting that it effectively replenishes iron levels and restores blood reserves quickly.

Take one capsule per day or one sachet dissolved in water.

Price

Iron is not an especially expensive mineral, but due to the extra processing required for this formulation, the final cost is slightly higher.

Coating ferric pyrophosphate with liposomes allows intestinal M cells to absorb its contents fully. This formulation—encapsulating iron in liposomes—enhances absorption compared to other iron salts.

The price of Fisiogen Ferro Forte reflects its effectiveness and the amount of iron that reaches its target in the body. It is absorbed throughout the small intestine rather than being limited to the duodenum.

Fisiogen Ferro Forte has worked well for me in the past, recommended by a nephrologist who, unfortunately, is no longer available to me. Now, phosphorus levels are starting to rise in my tests (5.2), and I wonder if the pyrophosphate form will harm me. My iron levels are not excessively low (iron 106, ferritin 39.4), but it has revitalized me so much in the past, improving my hair, nails, etc., that I would be disappointed not to be able to continue taking it. I look forward to your kind response.

Good morning, I have been taking Fisiogen Forte for several years due to pernicious anemia. The previous products prescribed to me didn’t help me absorb the iron. I take two tablets daily. My question is, can this product be classified as a medicine so that it can be covered by our medical insurance prescriptions?
      Thank you.

  2. Maria says:

ello, I have low iron, and the iron prescribed by the doctors irritates my stomach since I have a delicate stomach. I am now taking Fisiogen Forte and have been for 15 days. I don’t know if my iron levels have improved much yet, but I think it’s too soon. I have a hemoglobin level of 9.6, and I’m very worried. Can someone guide me? Thank you.

    • Marta Lerinde says:

Hello Maria, the best thing is to take the one your doctor recommends, and if it makes you feel bad, discuss it with them so you can switch to another brand that will help raise your iron levels.

  3. Isabel says:

Due to heavy menstrual periods, I used to take Tardyfero, and it didn’t go well at all. Fisiogen is wonderful. It doesn’t cause any discomfort.

  4. JJ. Daz says:

Hello, what is the difference between Fisiogen Sucrosomal and Liposomal? Thanks.

    • Marta Lerinde says:

Liposomal iron has a different formulation from conventional ones to be better absorbed by people with conditions that prevent oral absorption of this metal. When you take Fisiogen Liposomal, it breaks down in the liver, and the hepatocytes (liver cells) can absorb it.

Fisiogen Sucrosomal iron is enclosed in a “sucrosome,” a spherical form that allows it to be absorbed by the digestive tract. This encapsulation also protects the gastrointestinal mucosa from the irritation iron can cause during digestion. It oxidizes and can cause irritation, constipation, nausea, etc. This way, many of the side effects of iron supplements are avoided, making it much more tolerable for most people.

  5. Lenke says:

Hello, I am celiac, and after my diagnosis (and poor absorption), I was also diagnosed with anemia. I tried different types of iron, and they made me feel very bad. Now, I take Fisiogen Ferro in sachets, and it’s wonderful. It doesn’t harm me in any way. I’m not sure if it’s as effective, but so far, I’m very happy.

  6. Margot Sánchez says:

    Good morning,
Could someone tell me if Fisiogen Forte contains lactose? I understand it contains milk protein but not lactose. However, the pharmacy tells me it contains lactose. Could you clear up my doubt? Thank you.

    • Lidia Robles says:

The brand itself states that no formula contains lactose, meaning Fisiogen Ferro is suitable for people who are lactose intolerant.

What it does contain, as you mentioned, is casein, so it is not suitable for people allergic to cow’s milk protein.

To be sure, before purchasing it, check the package insert or the ingredients on the label, as it should list the ingredients in case there have been any modifications in the new versions of the product.

  7. Piedad says:

I have started taking Fisiogen in sachets, and it has caused nausea and diarrhea. I’m not sure if I should continue taking it.

    • Lidia Robles says:

If it makes you feel bad, you should stop taking it, but talk to your doctor as you’ll need to take another supplement or medication to address the iron deficiency.

  8. Patricia ESTEBANEZ says:

Hello, I have been taking this iron for a long time, and despite having to receive it via IV, I at least tolerate it. However, for a few days now, my tongue has darkened, even to the point of developing a large black spot. I would like to know if this could be caused by Fisiogen, as I take it in sachets, and it naturally lands on my tongue.

    • Marta Lerinde says:

Initially, a black tongue can be a sign of iron deficiency, so this could be the cause, which is why it has been prescribed for you.

  9. rocio says:

I have been taking this iron for a few months now, and I have noticed an increase in weight. Does iron cause weight gain?

    • Marta Lerinde says:

It could be due to the fact that you had an iron deficiency, and by adding it to your diet, your metabolism has regulated, allowing you to absorb other nutrients you weren’t absorbing properly. But iron itself does not cause weight gain. The fact that you’ve gained weight is just a coincidence, and it shouldn’t be related, even if it coincides with taking Fisiogen. Are you exercising? I ask because if you are, it’s possible that having a bit more muscle mass could result in more weight, as muscle weighs more, and taking iron could make it easier for you to build muscle if you’re doing any exercise.
