The best face creams: moisturizing, with vitamin C, and paraben-free

Face creams are an essential product to keep the face healthy and youthful, prevent blemishes, regulate oil production, reduce the amount of sebum that clogs pores, and restore hydration when the skin is dry.

There are many cosmetics we can use daily, both in the morning or at night, but choosing the right face cream is crucial for activating collagen formation and maintaining or even recovering skin elasticity to eliminate facial sagging.

Face creams

Since there are many options, in this article, we will indicate the best face creams. We will highlight many of them and show their differences. This way, you can choose the one that best suits you, your face, and your skin’s needs, whether you’re a man or a woman. Take note of the best value-for-money options.

Face creams

Below, we list the best face creams, including those with Vitamin C, those made with hyaluronic acid, those that are hydrating, depigmenting because they contain retinol, and a special section for men.

With Vitamin C

Face creams with Vitamin C are great because they brighten the face, eliminate tiredness, and give a natural glow.

Face cream and serum with Vitamin C

They are often used in serum form because they prevent the skin from becoming oily. They contain pure active substances in small concentrations so that they can be easily absorbed without leaving residue that clogs pores.

There are many options in this category of facial cosmetics, making it difficult to choose sometimes, so to make it much easier to buy, we’ve created a special section where you can discover the properties and effects of Vitamin C for the face, how to use it, and the recommended frequency for the best results.

As you will see, there are many brands with Vitamin C for the skin, so follow the advice we provide to get the most benefit from them.

With hyaluronic acid

The advantage of using these types of facial cosmetics is that they are very hydrating, which will help to moisturize the skin, preventing dryness and tightness in the face.

Cream with hyaluronic acid, collagen, and elastin

Face creams with hyaluronic acid should always be part of your skincare routine since they can be used daily without the risk of irritation.

Additionally, they will help you maintain a youthful appearance by preventing wrinkles and supporting skin elasticity and flexibility. Creams with hyaluronic acid, collagen, and retinol come at various prices depending on the one you choose.

However, to help you choose the one that best suits your needs, skin type, and, of course, your budget, we’ve created a comprehensive list of the best options. The ones we use ourselves and, of course, the ones that are getting the best results based on the feedback you provide.

Moisturizers

The previous creams should be enough to eliminate dryness from the face and help keep it youthful and in better condition, but in case you’re looking for a moisturizer that doesn’t contain hyaluronic acid, we’ve also created a section dedicated to the best moisturizing cream brands.

Types of moisturizing creams

In this section, we explain their differences, whether they are occlusive, humectants, and the most suitable uses for each of them.

Take a look, as you’ll find the most well-known brands, those that are good and cheap, and, of course, the creams that work best for each skin type.

Men

Men can use the same creams as women or purchase a specific one for them.

Face creams for men

Generally, men’s cosmetics contain the same active ingredients and, in some cases, include a higher percentage of moisturizing substances to prevent dryness and irritation caused by shaving.

In general, men’s skin needs are very similar to women’s. However, shaving daily causes more stress on the skin, making it necessary to hydrate the epidermis more intensely.

To make this easier, just like with the hyaluronic acid face creams, we’ve created a section with many creams for men. We recommend you check out all the brands we’ve listed and, depending on your skin type—whether it’s oily, acne-prone, or dry—choose one of the options we show.

You’ll see there are many men’s cosmetics to try, free of parabens and super gentle. And, speaking of parabens… below, we list the best face creams without parabens. These are the most natural creams, produce fewer allergies, and, of course, still provide many benefits and properties for the skin. So, take note of all of them.

Paraben-free

People with sensitive skin, atopic skin, and those who easily experience redness should always use paraben-free face creams. This will help improve the skin tone, reduce imperfections, and achieve a more even complexion.

Here’s a list of paraben-free creams:

  • Nezeni Intensive Anti-Aging Cream.
  • La Roche Posay Anthelios XL 50+ Fondant Cream.
  • La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5.
  • Ultra Facial Oil Free Hydrating Gel Cream by Kiehl’s.
  • Avril for dry and sensitive skin. Daytime use.
  • Sensilis Sun Secret Protective and Anti-Aging Cream SPF 30.
  • Biotherm Homme Aquapower D-Sensitive.
  • Neostrata Daytime Protection Cream SPF 15.
  • Aquasource Normal to Combination Skin by Biotherm.

We have ordered this list from best to worst, meaning we really like the first one, the Nezeni cream, and less the last one, the Biotherm. But this doesn’t mean the latter is bad; rather, among all the ones we’ve chosen, it’s the one we would buy last.

However, you must keep in mind that this is always subjective, depending on our skin type—whether it’s drier, oilier, or acne-prone—so any of these could be a good option for you.

And since we mentioned that we really like the Nezeni cream, let’s explain why.

Nezeni Intensive Anti-Aging Cream

Nezeni anti-wrinkle cream

The paraben-free face cream from Nezeni is made with active ingredients that are beneficial for both the epidermis and the deep dermis. Nezeni Anti-Aging Intensive is a facial cream that contains excellent moisturizers such as hyaluronic acid, shea butter, avocado oil, argireline, and ginseng. Everything needed to keep the skin hydrated for 24 hours, activate cell regeneration, and prevent aging.

The Nezeni cream contains extracts that improve facial regeneration, promoting the renewal of cells that prevent the skin from breathing.

Panax ginseng and the active ingredient Caprylyl glycol in Nezeni help clear the face. Together with the firming effect of Argireline, it prevents facial sagging, improving the production of natural collagen and elastin, which are essential parts of the skin structure.

Using this cream every day will help maintain a youthful appearance and much healthier skin.

The result of the Nezeni cream composition is delaying aging on the forehead, around the eyes, cheekbones, and chin. It can be used by both women and men. It acts on the entire face, making it one of the best face creams you can purchase directly from the Nezeni website.

With Retinol

Face creams with retinol help eliminate blemishes and imperfections, smooth the skin, and achieve an even tone.

Face cream with Retinol A

Retinol is a derivative of Vitamin A, essential for maintaining a youthful and well-cared-for face.

It should be applied daily, acting as a depigmenting agent that removes excess melanin, and therefore dark and red spots on the face.

Just like with some of the other categories of creams we’ve mentioned, we’ve created a section where we talk about the best retinol cream brands, very similar to those that contain retinoic acid.

However, these should only be used when necessary. While daily use is recommended for them to work well, if you just want to hydrate, they are not needed. We should apply them every day to lighten the skin and eliminate defective pigmentation, meaning the so-called facial spots. They are also useful for smoothing the complexion, reducing acne marks, and other imperfections that appear with age and time.

Differences Between Creams

  • Contain more collagen or promote greater natural regeneration.
  • Enhance the strength of elastin.
  • Prevent hyperpigmentation that causes spots.
  • Balance sebum production.
  • Contain moisturizing and nourishing substances.

There are a lot of body lotions, body milk, almond milk, aloe vera, and countless other products and substances for the body. But the question is why it is so important to use a specific cream for the face. You might think that any personal care cosmetic can work well for the skin. After all, skin is skin, and it doesn’t matter where it’s located on the human body.

…….. error………..

Not all skin is the same. I mean, yes, it’s the same, but it doesn’t receive the same impact from the environment, the same daily aggressions, and depending on the area, it’s more or less exposed to sunlight, something that causes it to age much faster.

Therefore, the skin on the face requires different amounts of moisturizers and repair agents than the rest of the body covered by skin.

It’s true that all dermis is composed of collagen, elastin, keratin, various corpuscles, and sebaceous glands, but as we indicated, depending on its exposure to environmental factors, it needs different care.

If you think about it, there are many things that influence the face, and these will determine whether you look younger or older. If you neglect certain things, it will be much easier for the skin to look older than it should.

Now, not all of us have the same needs or skin type, so this is the reason why we’ve classified and grouped the different face creams.

If you need to even out your skin tone, choose the following creams for blemished faces. If, on the other hand, you’re looking to eliminate dry skin, you should go for moisturizing creams for the face, and if you want something natural, that doesn’t contain chemicals and works gently with your skin’s pH and is suitable for sensitive skin, then check out the paraben-free creams.

After all these options, let’s give you some tips to help you buy the perfect cream for you.

How to Choose the Best Face Cream?

Here, the key is to consider your lifestyle habits. When following a facial routine, it’s different if you have the whole morning free versus being short on time. If you can dedicate some time every day, but if you’re pressed for time, it’s better to leave deeper cosmetics for the weekend or when you decide it’s your moment.

To choose the best face cream, the first thing is to observe whether you have oily, combination, or dry skin. This will decide the first line of products that are suitable for you and which ones you should discard.

The second thing is to remember your age. It’s not the same to be 30 as to be 60. The skin’s demands change over the years. Generally, the older you are, the higher the concentration of active ingredients you need.

The third step is to think about the goal you want to achieve with the face cream. As we mentioned, depending on what you want for your face, you can use everything from retinol creams to improve tone and color, to creams with caffeine to give an energy boost and help with dark circles. If you only want to improve the feeling of dryness, a simple moisturizer will be sufficient.

I’m 60 years old, and I’m looking for a cream that would suit me. I have normal skin and dark skin. I’m very active, as I jog every day, and my skin is exposed to the weather. I also take good care of myself. I hope you can suggest something. Best regards.

Hello Casimiro, you would need a moisturizing and/or nourishing cream to use at night. Those containing hyaluronic acid are great because they provide a lot of hydration.

You can use the moisturizer after your post-workout sun exposure, or at night, one that provides more reconstructive ingredients. This way, collagen can regenerate.

If you run during the hours of sunlight, the best option is to use sunscreen, applying it a while before to allow it to absorb well and avoid residue that can be annoying when sweating. After showering, you can use the other cream.

The choice depends a lot on the price and whether you have more or fewer wrinkles. Since you’re very active, you probably have fewer than others, but at 60, an anti-aging cream or those labeled “for mature skin” works well.

I’m 46 years old, and I need a good facial cream from a pharmacy, free from parabens and perfumes. My skin is delicate but not to the point of redness. I’m starting to get some spots, but not a lot, and the typical wrinkles for this age. My skin isn’t oily, more on the dry side but not excessively. Which one do you recommend? Thank you.

I’d like to know if the depigmenting facial extract from Alqvimia is good for the face. Since I’m 65 years old with dry and sensitive skin, I’m afraid it might irritate my skin. Thank you very much.
