How to do a body peel yourself

The peeling is used as a natural exfoliating treatment for the body skin. It has numerous benefits as it provides skin rejuvenation.

Thanks to its action, dead cells are renewed and you can regain the tone, brightness, and smoothness you thought you had lost. And the best part is that you can choose natural cosmetic products or a chemical exfoliation.

Necessary products for body peeling

  • Natural or chemical exfoliant. You can buy the one you like the most, although I always recommend natural products.
  • Crin glove.
  • Hyaluronic acid moisturizing cream, aloe vera, or whichever you like the most. You know what my favorites are.

The natural exfoliant that will help you do the body peeling can be bought in different places. In the supermarket, in the pharmacy where it will cost you more, or at the neighborhood store. I prefer to buy it online as it’s cheaper and it arrives at home in a couple of days. Just in time for the weekend, which is when I take a morning to care for myself and relax. As for being 100% natural, it depends on your budget. I like to care for both my skin and the environment, but that’s a personal choice. You can do it this way or go for the chemical peeling.

How to do a body peeling

The first step is to apply a little exfoliating cream on your legs. Start with one leg, beginning at the foot and working your way up. All the way to the groin, also rub the glute to make it nice. Apply a little pressure, but not too much to avoid scratches and to allow the microparticles in the cream to work during the exfoliation process. This step aims to remove dead skin cells from the outer layer, which you might notice as dull or imperfect.

When you finish, move to the other leg and repeat the same process. Spread the cream, feeling how it slightly scratches the outer layer of the skin. Be careful not to overdo the rubbing. It’s better to be gentle and, next time, make it more intense. This way, you can control the depth of the exfoliation.

Body peelingThe second step is to apply the exfoliating cream on your abdomen, feeling how you rub the skin. When you’re ready, move to your arms. Here, you can apply more pressure as they are less sensitive and the skin tends to be tougher.

The third step is the chest. Gently massage and avoid rubbing over the nipples. The skin on the chest is much more sensitive than other areas, so be careful not to harm it with the exfoliant particles. Remember not to touch the nipple.

The fourth step is particularly important. The neckline and shoulders need special care since they are very visible. They are often the most exposed areas in the summer and throughout the year, except for the hands and face. Spread the exfoliating cream, feeling how you scratch away the dead skin. The method is the same as the other steps. Neither too hard nor too soft.

The fifth step is to remove the exfoliating flakes with your hand. Gently pass your hand over your body, feeling how the particles that helped you with the body peeling come off. As you’ve already done part of the exfoliation process, the gentler, the better. Normally, at this point, your skin will be more sensitive than at first, so use a soft touch to avoid removing deeper layers of the epidermis from the friction of your hand.

The sixth step is to use the crin glove. If you’ve already removed all the exfoliating cream particles, moisten it in warm water and pass it over all areas of your body where you applied the exfoliating cream. The crin glove will help you remove all the old skin. It is crucial that no hard remnants are left from the previous steps, as you could injure yourself.

The last step, and very important, is to apply a good body moisturizer. Since you’ve removed the natural barrier, now you need to take care of it and hydrate it. Give yourself a gentle, comforting massage so that your skin absorbs all the water and essential nutrients that will promote it being vibrant in a few days.

At this point, you have completed the body peeling. You may notice your skin is red, but this is normal. Now you need to let it rest, remembering to apply moisturizer at least once a day during the first week. If you do this, you will notice in just a few days that, in addition to being smooth, your skin will take on a much brighter tone.

The good thing about this treatment is that it helps improve the effectiveness of subsequent treatments. You can do it anytime when you have a moment. However, don’t overdo it and allow the skin to rest from one week to fifteen days. And remember, before summer is a great time, as it helps the tanning cream or lotion to be absorbed easily, evenly, and the tan will be smooth, without color changes.
