Aqualix is a treatment to eliminate localized fat through the infiltration of deoxycholic acid. This is a bile acid that is reabsorbable by the body and works by dissolving the adipocytes where it is applied. The goal is to reduce fat tissue in areas where diet and exercise are not effective.

Aqualix results
By injecting one or more vials into a localized area, it is possible to destroy fat tissue. This fatty material is very difficult to reduce with diet alone. In the hips, abdomen, and even in the lower part of the buttocks, some women accumulate fat cells that remain even with strict exercise and diet. With its use, in just one session, results with Aqualix can be seen. To achieve better results, multiple sessions are recommended, and it is advised to support the treatment with low-frequency ultrasound—cavitation. Doing so can help eliminate all the accumulated fat tissue.
Aqualix’s function is to use intralipotherapy to avoid traditional liposuction. Instead of resorting to surgery, the infiltration of this substance achieves similar effects.
Until recently, treatments for reducing and sculpting the figure could decrease fat but not break down the adipocyte. Now, with Aqualix’s acid, it is possible to dissolve and expel excess fat. This substance, synthesized from a bile acid, breaks down fats during digestion. Thus, when isolated and applied to areas with excess fat cells, it helps reduce and can completely eliminate body fat.
How does it work?
The product is administered through small injections directly into the area where you have fat and an undesired volume. With a single injection, the liquid passes through the tissues and acts by dissolving adipocytes. This technique is called intralipotherapy and is often used as an alternative to mesotherapy. When it contacts the adipocyte, it liquefies it, and the body, through lipids, naturally eliminates it via the lymphatic system.
The application of the substance is outpatient and can be done in a clinic without the need for hospitalization or admission.
What is Aqualix?
It is an aqueous solution based on deoxycholic acid. Its presentation is in gel form, and it must be injected under the skin for it to take effect. Its formulation is biocompatible and reabsorbable, meaning that it performs its function and is processed normally by the body as it is naturally present in the human body. What happens is that this method works to eliminate fat from the desired location.
How long until the results are seen?
Although the clinic may say that results are immediate from the first session, the truth is that you have to wait at least 3 weeks to start seeing results. This is because after the first session, you experience swelling. There is a normal and expected inflammatory process.
The area where the product was injected reacts, starts working internally, and you will typically feel some swelling. It’s not painful or uncomfortable, but the first few days the effect will be the opposite. Afterward, you will slowly see it decrease, and in 2 or 3 weeks, you will notice the real results of fat reduction. This is with one session. It is typical to do 3 sessions, with an interval of 3 to 4 weeks between each. You go to the clinic, get Aqualix injected in your abdomen, legs, saddlebags, or wherever you want, and wait about a month. Then, you can go back for the second session.
Keep in mind that Aqualix vials are used for each specific area. The more fat you have, the more times you will need to repeat the process. For example, if you want to lose volume from multiple areas, it is likely that you will need to increase the number of sessions.
How long does each session take?
About 30 minutes. The gel must be injected very slowly. Each Aqualix injection should take about 2 to 4 minutes. The infiltration with intralipotherapy requires a process that differs from a standard intradermal injection.
And the effects? Are they permanent?
Absolutely. The dissolution of the adipocyte is permanent. The tissue that contains adipocytes disappears, and for the body to return to the same state, it must recreate all the material that was dissolved. So, the results of Aqualix are permanent. If you also combine this product with regular exercise and monitoring your diet, you can ensure that you will never accumulate that fat again. Of course, if you adopt unhealthy habits, eat fatty foods, and live a sedentary lifestyle, you will quickly return to your previous volume.
Do you need to do anything afterward?
The only recommendation is to wear a compression garment. As the fat tissue dissolves, it is better to wear something that compresses the tissues to help them regenerate and avoid skin sagging.
Does it replace diet and exercise?
No. This treatment should be complemented with a balanced diet and regular physical exercise. The fact that fat can be eliminated means that you can improve your appearance and have a slimmer figure, but people with obesity are not ideal candidates for Aqualix. They should first lose weight, change their lifestyle, and, in cases where there is a pathology, undergo surgery to correct their issues. Aqualix helps define the silhouette and areas like the hips and abdomen, but it is not a substitute for a healthy lifestyle and is not a weight-loss treatment.
Aqualix contraindications
The product is quite safe, although pregnant women should wait before using it. The same applies to those who are breastfeeding. In addition, people with heart problems, kidney issues, diabetes, or infectious diseases should avoid it.
People undergoing anticoagulant treatment should monitor for any effects, as there could be bleeding or localized bruising.
In general, anyone with a serious or chronic illness should consult their doctor to determine if they can benefit from its properties.
Side effects
It is common to experience small bruises in the area where the product has been injected. These are usually mild or moderate and are considered normal in the reducing treatment. In a few days, you will see them disappear.
Additionally, some people may experience discomfort or pain afterward, and some even during the injection. In these cases, the use of lidocaine or similar anesthetics may help. However, it is ultimately up to the doctor to determine whether other substances should be used.
The inflammatory process that follows each session is not considered a side effect of Aqualix. It is a normal reaction to the destruction of adipocytes and fat tissue.
Risks
The risks are those associated with injections. Anytime there is a needle, there is a possibility of infection if proper disinfection is not done beforehand. There could also be swelling or the formation of a cyst, although this happens in a very small percentage of cases. The same applies to any intradermal process.
Differences between Aqualix and liposuction
The goal is the same, but it should be noted that with invasive cosmetic surgery like liposuction, the results are deeper. With intralipotherapy and some mesotherapy techniques, it is possible to reduce several centimeters of fat, but each process has its limitations. However, with non-invasive methods, you avoid the operating room and postoperative care, as well as all the risks associated with liposuction and any liposuction surgery.
In this regard, the repetition of sessions and the price of surgery might make Aqualix a good alternative for many people.
Price of Aqualix
The use of Aqualix is based on vials, and the cost is calculated according to how many are used. Typically, 3 vials are used in each session, with a price ranging from $270 to $320. This means that each vial costs around $100.
Each vial is injected into a specific area where you have fat, so several areas are treated during one session. When you return for the second session, the process is the same, and if one session was enough, you can start treatment in other areas.
The prices of Aqualix include the doctor’s fees, the product, and all materials needed to complete the treatment. Talk to your aesthetic clinic about paying for several sessions at once, as they might offer a special price for the complete package.
Here is a video for you to see how it works:
I’d like to know if it causes sagging.
Hi Rosario, quite the opposite—Aqualix helps reduce skin sagging. It should not cause it in any case.
After applying this treatment, can I continue using slimming creams in the same area? Thanks.
Is the cavitation session included in the price? Thanks.
No problem, it’s completely compatible. Regarding the price, Aqualix can be combined with cavitation and other treatments.
Where can I get it done? Price?
I live in Rosario.
Currently, Aqualix is available in Spain.
Can I get it done in Ciudad Real?
Hi Alicia, yes, it is available throughout Spain. There are Aqualix clinics across the country.
Can you recommend a doctor or clinic in Almería or Murcia? Thank you.
I got my first vials yesterday in Almería at Clínica Vigea, and so far, I’m very happy. They applied it to all the difficult areas, and the whole process took about 45 minutes. It only hurts a little with the first injection. Afterward, you wear a compression garment, which you can remove at night.
Today, the areas where I was injected are red, but that’s it. I suppose I’ll get some bruising, but the discomfort is minimal. The doctor was very kind and seemed very professional to me.
Hi, I had Aqualix applied to my saddlebags four weeks ago. At first, the swelling was extreme, and it was painful. I returned to the clinic because I still have some pain and more swelling than before.
They injected me with saline to reduce it and told me to drink a lot of water. I’m worried the results will leave me worse than before. I haven’t noticed any improvement—on the contrary, I’m more swollen. I need your help!
Thanks.
The same thing happened to me.
Thanks for sharing. Wishing you a quick recovery.
The same thing happened to me too. I’ll share my experience below.
Everyone who has had the treatment should share their experiences to help others.
Thanks, Graxy and Emma! Wishing you both a speedy recovery and that the treatment works for you.
I’m from Ecuador. How can I buy your product? Thanks.
My experience with Aqualix
Good morning, everyone. I’m Bel Sanz, 22 years old, and I had my first Aqualix session a month ago. Would I do it again? No, no, NO, NO!
I think it was one of the biggest mistakes of my life—and I’ve made plenty!
I got it for my saddlebags because I’m quite slim, but I gained weight over the summer. Most of the weight went to that area, so I decided to try it.
It’s EXPENSIVE, UNCOMFORTABLE, INEFFECTIVE, and the side effects are still present a month later.
I measured myself before and after (which the clinic didn’t even do), and I gained 5 cm in circumference overnight! The bruising was horrible—so bad that even my boyfriend said it was worse than he imagined.
I was told the swelling would go away in a week, but after a month, I still have 3 cm of extra volume! If I don’t lose it soon, I will file a serious complaint.
At this point, I don’t even care if it works—I just want it to go away!
I wasted time, money, and hope. If anyone wants to ask me more, you can find me on social media—I’m happy to share details.
I won’t reveal the clinic or doctor’s name until I get an explanation from them.
Kisses to all.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience, Bel. We really appreciate it.
It’s important to get direct feedback on Aqualix results and your personal experience.
Please speak with the clinic, as it seems you’ve had side effects or a reaction to the treatment. You should be better, not worse. Inform them and see what solution they can offer.
I hope things improve for you in the coming weeks. Let us know how you progress if you’d like.
Good afternoon,
I had Aqualix done fifteen days ago, and I’m happy! The bruising was minimal, and the discomfort was mild—I only feel it when I do intense exercise.
I have started noticing a small reduction in abdominal volume—not much, but I can tell.
Of course, I combine it with some exercise and a healthy diet.
I’m glad it’s working well for you and that you’re happy with the results! What you’re doing—exercise and healthy eating—is the best way to enhance volume reduction.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Hi everyone! I had it done a few days ago. I have some bruising and slight swelling, but I’m also ovulating, so I’ll wait to see the results.
Ladies, do you think it’s recommended to take a draining supplement or fat burner? I exercise and eat healthily, but I’m not sure if a drainage product would help.
Hi Yanira, which clinic did you go to, what area did you treat, and how many vials did you use?
If it’s not too much to ask, could you tell me how much it cost?
I’m considering it, but I can’t find a clinic that offers it near me. It seems to be patented, and I haven’t found a place that does it.
Do they offer this treatment in Mexico City? How much is the consultation?
Hi, does anyone know of a place in Mexico that offers this treatment?
If so, could you share their contact information?
Thanks!
Hi Izmir, check aesthetic clinics. If you can’t find Aqualix in Mexico, there are similar treatments available, even if they aren’t exactly the same.
Hi!
I had intralipotherapy, and now I have small cyst-like lumps.
What should I do to make them disappear? It’s been three weeks, and they are still there. Is this normal?
It would be best to monitor them and see if they gradually disappear. Consult your clinic before your next session so they can take it into account.
Hi, is there a clinic in Cantabria?
And just to confirm, is each monthly session for three areas around €180?
Each center sets its own prices, though they are generally similar. They should provide you with details, as there may be promotions or discounts for multiple sessions.
Hi,
Can it be applied to the lower arms?
Yes, it can be applied wherever there’s localized fat.
Most people use Aqualix to reduce fat in the abdomen, glutes, and thighs since those areas tend to accumulate more fat. However, it can be used on any area where you want volume reduction.
